Beginning March 2012, Arc'teryx LEAF division will be providing gear prizes to the top performers in my open enrollemnt classses. This kit will be won, not given, to the students who pass my shooting tests, sometimes cold, and the students who consistently perform well under pressure from the timer and the scoring rings.
I'm humbled that the Dead Bird asked me first to come on board for this idea. Combining the best outdoor gear on the planet with my training is a no brainer. I hope that this will up the ante even more in performance at my classes, and from it we'll get to see and learn alot from each other.

Back Down South
When you see the lights
And we hear the fights
It's gonna be a stunner
I've got something here
If you give me one more beer
I'm gonna call a runner

No more SERPA holsters in my classes
Instead of an outright ban, I have a solution. There are many military units that have been issued/chosen/been told they are using this absurdly dangerous holster. For you guys here is what I've got-
With the holster empty take a long sharp knife, reach down inside the SERPA and cut/saw the plastic piece that rests inside the trigger guard when the weapon is holstered. You may need to use a set of needle nose pliers to help rip that nub off. This will make the push button a non issue and the tension screw can be used for retention.
Whoever chose this piece of shit to be issued to anyone- you're an inexperienced pistol shooter who has no common sense. Hope you got a decent kickback from Blackhawk.

Sheriff Of Baghdad Bitch Sling
My brother from another mother, "Shrek", as most of you know him -came up with this variation of a 2 point adjustable sling. Pick one up here .
Shrek and I have had some great times together. He is one of the heroes of Tora Bora. He served over twenty years in the mil, most of that in Ranger Batt or my sister Army unit so he has some knowledge of what a sling should do. Incidentally, the first time we met, we noticed we wear our gear the same way...so he knows gear in general. I 'm using this now on my scoped rifle, and if I can talk him out of another one , I'll switch my Troy out too. That's how much I like it.
Remember, there is a never ending search for the perfect kit, don't be afraid to try new things out to see what works best for you and to stay current. That's what I did with the Bitch Sling.....plus, it come with a skull on it....you can't beat that!
