Kyle, I think you recently mentioned somewhere that you are going to be training w/ a SIG pistol. If so, can you give us details about which pistol, trigger, etc.? I know your glock served you well. Glock is a great gun.. IMHO

Other pistols you like and why??

The other instructor is J.D. Potynsky.

sigsauer,
I have a stock 226 with black sights and stippled grips. I do like Sig's short rest trigger but last I checked they won't sell just the trigger, you have to send the entire gun in-to much trouble.

I'm to the point now that I really don't care anymore what pistol I shoot. I generally have the same standards times on them all (Glock, Sig, Beretta) with the exception of slower reloads on the Beretta. I also really don't notice any difference on shooting tests either. I will say that the Glock is the least accurate at 25 yds compared to the other 2.

Kyle, have you tried the SIG DAK trigger? Any thoughts on the DAK?

Any opinion on the HK USP's?

Sigsauer,

I've shot the Sig DAK trigger. Most recently 3 weeks ago with some guys from the gov that were running it. It is a nice da trigger pull, one of the best stock ones I've felt.

As for HK USPs, they are ok. I had to shoot one in Spain this past fall because they couldn't get anything else for me. The magazine release is sketchy at best, and personally I just believe that combat handguns should be striker fired with no safeties. For the price there are better options out there. HK is a smoke and mirror company that has ran through numerous management and owner changes in the recent past and anyone but gov is low on their list. Quite honestly, we had issues in the Nav too. It's hard to beat the price and performance of a Glock. Smith & Wesson's M&P is making a strong bid to compete with Glock as well, and I think it's a good product now that they have got the kinks out.

Bottom line is the mil will never go to a Glock or M&P because the folks that make decisions don't make good ones. The Army's recent purchase of 400,000 more Berettas isn't helping either.

Like I said, I don't really care what I shoot any more. There are pros and cons to them all.
